Textures.

So I went a little overboard on the wrinkles perhaps... Ah well, that's what the Smooth Tool is for, eh?

  1. Hello! it's Ken. They look great! The wrinkles look awesome :D The old lady looks good enough to eat, as she looks like a scary chocolate mould.

    Yum!

    Look forward to seeing more!

Oh, and why do the old lady's irises go inwards?

  2. Hey Ken!

I'm going to pretend you said nothing about eating chocolate old lady shapes...

Glad you like! I think the next blog post answers your question about the eyes. They've got two layers, the first is matte with an iris that goes inward (like a real life one does), so that when the second layer (a semi-transparent Phong shader) is applied, the eyes should have a nice sense of depth. But I took the second layer off for a while while I was painting in Mudbox.

  3. Yay! I have my own account on this blog and now I don't have to pretend to be a girl :D And no, don't go there!

Sarah, I was talking about her nose ;) I mean, seriously!

That's pretty cool, I take it you've done that for extra reflectivity on the eyes? I didn't know about the matte function.
